About Pastor Backhaus

Pastor Michael S. Backhaus was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. He attended Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin, and graduated with a degree in Pastoral Studies and Bible. He furthered his education by obtaining a master's degree from MBBC in Pastoral Theology. Upon graduation, he became assistant pastor at Billings Baptist Temple in Billings, Montana, and was a supervisor in the A.C.E. school.

After moving to Sidney, Montana in 1981, he became assistant pastor at Bible Baptist Church and supervisor in the A.C.E. school. The church called him as pastor in 1985 and he has served in that position since then. Pastor Backhaus is married to June Smith Backhaus and they have four children, one son-in-law, and one daughter-in-law: Daniel and Valerie, Bethany and Ryan Gunther, Luke and Miriam. Added to their family are their four grandchildren
